Two men Thomas and Dominik, die Kaffeemänner from Aschersleben. One learned to love coffee at the other end of the world in New Zealand and the other at the “Deutsches Eck“ near Koblenz, where the Mosel river joins the Rhein. The beginning of their coffee passion.
“We are part of your project, because we want to protect the direct trade in coffee, as well as the environment. If nature gives us such a great gift as coffee, then we want to use it responsibly and sustainably. Therefore, the Orangutan Coffee Project is a great opportunity to put our values into practice. In addition to the environmental aspect, we are happy to support the coffee farmers and their families. Because without these families and their hard and demanding work, we would not have such high-quality coffee. This effort must be recognised. “
In September 2020 they started their roastery, “crisis” was the usual life from the beginning. During the pandemic, tastings and seminars had to be avoided, so the focus was fully on roasting. When travelling is possible again, they would like to travel to some countries of origin and visit the local coffee farmers – including Sumatra, of course.
